Project Selection - Magazine

Print journalism interests me in the aspect that you get to write articles on topics that attract you and creatively lay out media such as magazines to make something more eye-catching and popular with your target audience. I've always enjoyed reading magazines, and the way titles, fonts, and photos are incorporated has really helped draw me to this form of journalism. Through shows such as the Newsroom, I learned how varied articles can be, such as writing "take down" pieces about popular culture or writing more informative pieces about world issues. I personally have always found the most interest in lifestyle magazines that include fashion, health, and culture because I enjoy finding ways to better my life, along with looking at the latest trends. I'm a fairly skilled writer and revel in writing about topics that interest me, as I write in a lot of detail. I believe this would be a strength of mine, along with my creative skills that would help me to make an appealing layout and include only my best work. On the other hand, my indecisiveness may make this project more challenging for me. I oftentimes can't decide what I think looks best and can be a perfectionist, so this would cause me to struggle with the highest quality layout. I also struggle with titling projects and have never used graphic design software, both posing to be problems I may face whilst working on this form of media.
