Midterm Submission
These are my final pages that I ended up producing after the planning and production process. For the cover I ended up choosing to use that photo because I liked the way I shot it with negative space, allowing me to put the title of my magazine in the area where the sky was. I used a circle clip art as a text circle as well because I thought it added some interest to the cover and made it more intriguing. I used muted pinks and purples for my text because they complimented the headband my model was wearing, as well as looking nice together. For my table of contents, I once again chose to use a full picture to fill up the page. I decided on putting parts of the text in yellow to match the sunglasses, as well as add a brighter pop of color that immediately catches your eye. The phrase "contents" I put in a pale pink to be cohesive with the pink theme of the cover, along with matching the color scheme of the background. For my article, I decided on taking the same fonts and colors from the cover title "College Confidence" to make the magazine feel more complete. As for formatting the interview, I chose to do it in columns, with each of the interview questions in a pink color to make it stand out more and to help the reader differentiate between the questions and answers more quickly. I picked a photo of my model in the flower garden because of the pink flowers in the back matching the text and chose to put it in the top corner as if felt like if fit best there. For the second page of the article, I chose to include 2 photos from different locations but with similar background to add variety while still having some coherence. I felt that both the angles of these photos were artistic and looked best together. I continued the column format for the interview questions, but this time decided on including a quote from the interview in the center of the page in a larger text. I have seen this done in various other fashion magazines and I've always found it intriguing, therefore I decided to do it too to add some interest to the page and to add a unique twist to an otherwise basic format.
