Allure magazine is a popular American women’s fashion magazine that tackles various beauty trends, targeting an audience of 18-49 years olds, allowing them a large variety of publication and marketing techniques. Allure Beauty Box:

With the trend of beauty boxes and convenience of products at your doorstep, the Allure Beauty Box is a successful and strategic way for the magazine to advertise. This Beauty Box sends monthly subscriptions of 5 full-sized makeup, skincare, and any other product the Allure editor team would like to share with its subscribers. These products are valued at anywhere from $50-$90, while the subscriber only pays $15 each month. This is a good marketing technique to use because it not only gives exposure to both indies and high-end brands that could bring them more customers in the future once the subscriber runs out of the product, but it also boosts Allure's reputation as they pick products the subscribers like and will make them more likely to read the magazine for its opinion and reviews that can be trusted.

Social Media:

Social media is something majority of the population uses on a daily basis, meaning its necessary for print media to take advantage of these online platforms. Allure runs an Instagram account in which they post 4-5 photos a day of celebrity modeling shots, popular beauty products they want to sell, and any other relevant posts to the media today that will draw in followers. By using this form of social media, Allure is able to reach out to the younger audience who is most likely to be browsing social media on a daily basis and sees these posts. This will then make them more intrigued and have a desire to read more about the makeup and lifestyle products, reaching for the magazine to get it. Also, Allure runs a Twitter account to updated followers on there about their newest articles on allure.com, a smart way to bring in readers on that platform to their website and hopefully their print media as well.

Email Marketing:

Using an email list called Allure Daily Beauty Blast, the reader is able to receive daily newsletters on beauty tips, tricks, and recommendations for products right into their inbox. By having content sent to them everyday, Allure is able to advertise how their magazine gives the best tips and promotes the best beauty products. It may also prompt the reader of the newsletter to eventually get a subscription for the magazine because they want to gain more knowledge and information on these products they've heard about through their email.

Taking advantage of these techniques for my own magazine, I may consider making a curated beauty box for Belle Fleur to add interest to the print media and make subscribers appreciate and trust the magazine's beauty choices for their readers. It will also make them more likely to go to the magazine to find out about more products they'll want to buy.
