Digital Distribution Plan
Taking a look at the research I did and finding that mobile apps and websites create a lot of success for print magazines that are trying to break into the digital world, I would definitely use both of these options.
In the case of creating mobile apps, I plan to make one simply called "Belle Fleur" that would serve as a digital version of the print magazine, giving daily news of popular culture, along with fashion trends and beauty tips. Some could use the app as a general app with some articles, but subscribers to the magazine could use it as a way to get an identical copy of the magazine on a mobile device. It would be the full magazine with each of the page spreads, simply more conveniently on an app. By taking advantage of this, I'll be able to reach a wider audience. Additionally, a mobile app is an effective way to distribute more content to more people, as it's digital and can be taken anywhere on the go to be read. It can be accessed on phones, tablets, etc., therefore making it one of the best ways to distribute a print magazine that many people may not immediately think to subscribe to or buy on a newsstand.
Additionally, I will create a website as other fashion magazines do to easily draw in an audience who may most often browse the internet and visit websites to read their latest news. My website will be called BelleFleur.com, that way it will be easy to find, and people will immediately be aware it's the internet version of the print media. On this website will be various tabs leading the reader to fashion, lifestyle, hair, celebrity, and more news that will be updated on a daily basis. By staying up to date and constantly having various articles per day, more people will be likely to visit the website. Also, I will include a subscribe tab that gives people the option to subscribe to either the online or print version of the magazine with deals that will intrigue readers. This is effective in distributing my magazine because it gives people more options for how to buy the magazine and will help to increase sales.
